SALSA is a gorgeous sable and white, 20# approximately 5 year old sheltie that was surrendered to a shelter by her owner to be euthanized. Why, we have no idea. She is an absolute doll. She came home with one of our foster families and fit right in with their 3 other rescued shelties and cat Louie.  Louie even did a CAT scan on her and said she passed with flying colors.

She had quite a few mats but sat like the lady she is to be groomed then had a shampoo and blow dry.

She loves to play with our youngest sheltie and seems to be ok in a crate. She does jump on top of the crate if given a chance but will go in without making a fuss.

She is a bit shy but will come up to you to be loved on. When approaching her she just needs a kind word and soft touch. She will sit but when you bend over to pick her up she may roll on her back or try to make her escape. Haven't had any potty accidents so it looks like she is possibly already house trained as well....will just need to know the rules and some time for re-adjustments into a new home again.

She slept all night loose in our bedroom with the her furfriends and did great.

Salsa seems to be very adaptable, she would probably do well with other dogs since she likes to play or will be happy to just snuggle with her person.  We haven't had her around any children but from other indications, older children that understand that doggies need to be approached with gentleness and manners should do fine with her.
