8 yr old Abbie needing a home ASAP -

 
Her family is losing their home and must downsize due to a medical misfortune this past year or this would be the last thing they'd be considering. It's so sad to talk to people like Abbie's family that do not want to give up their beloved family pet when so many others dispose of their lifelong pets like the daily trash...it just isn't fair.

Words from Abbie's mom: She's been a good dog - loves children and playful - so this breaks my heart.
We have 2 cats, the home she came from has two cats - She does well with a friends Mini Schnauzer - but not my son's Australian Shepherd. (They both try to herd each other). She got along well with our Golden, who passed away a few years ago, but i think as she gets older she appreciates being an only DOG. She is gentle with children - plays well with my niece's daughter and my grandson - she plays fetch and gets excited when older children pay attention to her. She likes to be part of any conversation - she would make a fantastic only pet and companion for an older person. She loves my mother - but my mom cannot have a dog in her retirement community. She is fully vetted and appears healthy and we would expect and hope several good years left. She is very probably the best dog we have ever had.
